Paul Carney is a powerful and passionate singer-songwriter who hails from the North East of England. His distinctive vocal style has earned him many admirers who love his tender and romantic music. Paul's experience as a writer and performer is long and vast. As a child Paul performed lead roles in many stage presentations however he soon began playing and singing in Rock bands and at the age of 16 he began writing his own music. Early musical influences include light opera, country music, chart music and the crooners such as Sinatra. Always the emphasis was on beautiful and brilliant vocals and fantastic songs.

This has been at the heart of what drives and inspires Paul "Music is a creative process, a process that allows me to express my thoughts and feelings through sound, lyric and instrument. It isn't about fame, money or adulation, it is creative expression."

For me the thrill would be to have my music become part of popular culture and more than that, that it might bring pleasure to people who can identify with my lyrics. To have had people write to me to tell me that my song is special to them and that it makes them cry is a great honour. I love being able to do that. It make's what I'm doing valid and worthwhile.
